FAITH IS CONFIDENCE PT 2
Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 Corinthians 3:4 And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
Our trust & our confidence in our God is sufficient for every need that we have. Our true confidence in Him is sufficient because He is more than sufficient for our every need. You must remember that your Father in Heaven is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that you could ask or think according to His power (Eph 3:20).
We need to have confidence in His blessing. In hard times you need to verbalize the goodness of God in your life. Speak it out loud. The devil cannot stand to hear your verbal praise like that. It eats his lunch when you do that.
You are going to have bad days. Job chapter 1 is the perfect example of a person who has had a really bad day. The truth is that bad things happen to good people. Yet you still have the blessing of God because He never promised you a smooth road, but He did promise you a sure road. Therefore you ought to praise Him and praise Him out loud.
We need to have confidence in prayer. God told Jeremiah to call unto Him (Jer 33:3). That is what He is saying to you today. Believe that He not only hears your prayer, but believe and have confidence that He will answer your prayer. That is simple faith! Without faith it is impossible to please him. You have got to learn to pray in confidence. Prayer changes things! You ought to spend more time in prayer than you ever have in your life. Your prayer time should be increasing not decreasing.
The closer you get to Him the more you love Him, and the more you love Him the more you want to spend time with Him. The more time you spend with Him in prayer the more confident you will be that He hears and answers your prayers.
We need to have confidence in God's strength. Your strength comes from the Lord and you can do all things through Him. His strength comes to you because of His grace and His grace because of Christ. It has nothing to do with who or what you are. It has everything to do with who and what He is. The Lord's strength is made perfect in your weakness (Paul's thorn in 2 Cor 12:7-10). He does what you cannot do for yourself.
Your confidence in God should give you great joy. The joy of the Lord that you have within you gives you a confident strength in God's plan and purpose for your life. This is what gives you confidence in His blessings, confidence in prayer, and confidence in his all-sufficient strength and power towards you.
As you go out today be confident that the Lord your God, your Father, is with you every step of the way. May the joy of your confidence in the Lord be your strength today. - Preacher
